Early morning topwater

    Who else loves a good Smallmouth top water bite?‬

    Wasn’t top water but popped this nice smallie after getting out early yesterday. She was close to 22″s.

    First spot I stopoed yesterday had a good top water bite going. Very active school of white bass and smallmouth busting minnows on the surface. They bit on everything but after a while seemed to either get educated to what I was up to or bite was tappering off. In the end U coaxed a few more out with the best minnow imitator I had with. Small ice fishing spoons raced across the surface.

    Mike that is a TANK Smallie! You have to love it when they are feeding hard on bait on the surface!
