With August here I have done a little more leadcore trolling as of late. I do not have a lot of experience with leadcore but its a learning experience for sure. Im learning that speed is everything with this technique. Best success has come in 15 foot of water running two colors of lead with #5 shad raps. Best colors include purple sunfire, hot steel, white, and purple shad. Speeds right around 2mph seem to produce most strikes. I have used this pattern on two different bodies of water in the past 10 days. Water temps are in the high 70s right now and it seems algea bloom is peaking right now. Still some fish to be had pitching from what others are saying. I am personally looking forward to the fabulous fall bite of later September to Halloween, but wont turn down active August eyes. Hope everyone has a chance to get out, – QB

    Lead core = good stuff!
The more you use it, the more you will get used to it and in many cases, the more you will love its fish catching ability.

    Thanks for the update QB!
