Finally got some dust caps for the trailer, and things wont freakin go on! After some abuse from rubber mallet and wood blocks they are toast.

Cleaned the grease around the nut for room, but when it goes on the one side just pops out. It seems like its too packed not allowing any air to escape, but such a small area I’m at a loss what to do.

You have great seals, don’t complain. Drill a tiny hole [1/16] right along side the ridge that butts up to the housing making sure its on the outside of the ridge so the air can vent. Tap your cups in place and then seal the holes with a small dab of silicone.

Last two trailers had BBs, and both had bad inner seals assuming previous owners just thought having half a tube of grease on the outer bearings works for the inner as well.

Not to start another bearing buddy war but I’ll pass on them with this one. They look like a weak link in allowing water in as well that I’d rather avoid. Dust cap, silicone, seal them babies good and regrease every few years.
