Dumb Question

OK, I’ve read the manual a bunch of times and I searched the Internet and I still can’t find an answer to this question.

I’m looking at the Lakemaster map on my Helix 7. On the left hand side of the screen there is a number. “50 ft”, “100 ft”, whatever. I can zoom in and out with the +/- buttons, and the number changes.

BUT WHAT DOES THE NUMBER MEAN???????????

If it says “50 ft” is the whole screen 50 feet across? Is it 50 feet per inch? I can’t find an answer and it’s driving me nuts.

    Thanks

On my maps, there is a line directly below the number, the length of the line is the distance represented by the number.

There are little tabs on that hash mark, the length means thats how far it is. 50′ = line length
    100′ = line length.

You mean the line just to the left of the number? I finally saw that line a couple f days ago and figured that must be what it means. Thanks!
