Duluth – Island Reservoir

    Going to Duluth to see my son for a short trip. He wants to go fishing and we don’t want to waste time driving. Is Island Reservoir worth trying out?

    I’ve never fished it but I’ve read and heard that it’s stacked with walleyes. I heard they are mostly on the smaller size though. Also heard that place can be treacherous to boat around – lots of stumps and timber

    Lots of walleyes in island, but the population as a whole is stunted. You can still make out with a limit of 14-15 inch eaters. Some nice perch and crappies too. The lake isn’t too bad to navigate if you have a good map chip.
