Anyone else struggling with attitude and motivation right now??? Looking out my window, seeing a few snowflakes….. looks like it will be cloudy all week long, capped by high winds and some more cold this weekend. I can’t take it much more!!

This has been the longest I’ve ever not fished in years. Been at least 3 weeks.
Work has been keeping me busy so its a bittersweet.
April 10, 2018 at 11:57 am #1766582You’re not the only one LindyRig.. I’ve had visions of doing a lot of stuff around the yard this spring. Problem being its still winter.. and now forecasting anywhere from 8″-24″ of snow this weekend.. I’m over it.. Its getting down right depressing. Thank God for my Erie trip next week!!
Justin riegelPosts: 937April 10, 2018 at 11:59 am #1766584I am in the same boat, I am sure my wife is sick me complaining about not getting out. I like the spring transition time to get yard stuff done before summer really rolls around.
April 10, 2018 at 12:48 pm #1766597I would prefer slightly warmer temps. High 40’s would be ideal for this time of year. The water is open on the river, no ice in the guides, but not so warm that every person who has ever owned a boat is out attempting to launch a boat or do their seasonal maintenance checks at the landing.

Guides were icing up on Sunday on the river….been awhile since that happened on open water in April (or never). The snow while on the boat was serene but I’m done with it.
?????Posts: 299April 10, 2018 at 1:10 pm #1766605We can still drive our truck out to fish up here so it could be worse. Looking like one will need both the boat and auger to fish opener up here. The boat to get to the ice and the auger and sled to get to the fish, best of both worlds. Look on the bright side. LOL!!
April 10, 2018 at 4:10 pm #1766676It is the Upper Midwest and it surprises me none. I’ve pondered on more than one year if ice would be out by opener. On other years I’ve fished in temperatures below 30° with the wind blowing a mighty blow and an icy mixture of sleet and snow falling from the sky.
April 10, 2018 at 5:31 pm #1766700I think for me it’s just craving a change. Just like how at the end of summer I am sick of the hot weather and ready for fall. It’s been a long slog and after the last two easy winters, it makes it harder to endure.
All I know is the first 60 degree sunny day, I’m going to sit out in the yard and just soak up the sun. I have been popping Vitamin D pills all winter just to keep my mood and energy up.
MNdrifterPosts: 1671April 10, 2018 at 8:00 pm #1766736Y’all can thank me Monday. I jinxed us for the good. I went to the farm to get my snow blower I summerized about a month ago. It was a real pain in the a$$ to get to it, I had to move a bunch of crap, and trailers in the shed to get it out. So I really dreaded going to get it. I also got double points because my truck was nice and clean, and I had to drive it down the nastiest sloppy gravel road and driveway. So now that I’m prepared I’m betting it will miss Annandale altogether. Your welcome!

Now that’s funny! I was going to make a trip to Rainy river this year. Figured it would be a nice break at the end of March.
Glad my brother couldn’t do it and bailed now. Maybe next year will be normal.
Come on spring!
April 11, 2018 at 3:18 am #1766773The weather on Monday and Tuesday really got under my skin. Both days came in under the projected temps I saw on Sun. We have barely lost any of the snow since the Easter weekend snow storm in my area. Now more snow and cold this weekend and not even a 50 degree reading in the long-term forecast. I’m starting to worry that the Platte/Sullivan area lakes aren’t going to be open for Opener. A thought that was previously preposterous to me. The ice went off Platte on May 8th 2013 and we are definitely behind 2013 now.

Exactly where I’m at. Lots of yard work to catch up on if I want to get out a lot this summer!
Tom SawvellInactivePosts: 9559April 11, 2018 at 6:21 am #1766781Last night’s 10pm weather suggested that those 50’s that had been mentioned over last weekend were likely not got to occur now here in the Rochester area. The heaviest of the snow is supposed to stay well north of this area yet, but now our rain may be mixed with, or turning to, snow. I’m going to check the crappies on a local lake with some jigs/plastics in a little bit this morning. Got some frost on rooftops but its 31 degrees right now, looking for, what else, 50 degrees for a high. I’m not holding my breath….but I am going to go cast some jigs.
April 11, 2018 at 12:54 pm #1766898I just saw a Paul Douglas tweet that showed the latest models from an hour ago all agree that central/south central Minnesota is in line for between 16″-29″ of snow this weekend!!!!!!! WTF!

Too warm. I call BS. Good for the ratings.
April 13, 2018 at 7:41 am #1767350Dude…What a difference a couple of days have made in my outlook. The snowstorm for this weekend looks like it has shifted South and we melted off a bunch of it over the last couple of days. After the cold blast this weekend the long-term forecast looks promising that we might start getting back to more normal temperatures. I may actually be able to get my boat in the water before Opener. Let it be so!
Fishwater83Posts: 117April 13, 2018 at 9:56 am #1767395we’ve had to cancel our trip to green bay the last 2 weekends. im completely over the winter we’re having this spring.

Can you wait until September? I’m not moving your stuff to Tampa too!
April 13, 2018 at 3:05 pm #1767469I thought facebook was the only place people complain about the weather. Guess I was wrong! Carry on as you were.
April 13, 2018 at 8:17 pm #1767569Looks like another 3” on Wednesday.
Tough to cipher from your image about 3″ next Wednesday, but ya…watching tonight’s 6:00 news, the “blonde” weather woman was speaking of another system coming in mid-week. She said not to worry as it shouldn’t be as big of a deal as tonight and tomorrow.
Not too long ago…like after the big Easter snow, the meteorologist’s were all promising of a big warm up. Not happening anytime soon.
