My Drahts sure enjoy duck hunting! These below are my 20 month old male. I’ll have to figure out how to post a short video of my 10 1/2 year old Draht retrieving a duck from last Sunday.

Here’s the old boy coming back after a nice blind retrieve across a slough and into the woods. He’s still going strong for his age.

    Nice!

I’ve never duck hunted, but Ripley loves water retrieves, so I may have to give it a shot some day.

I want to get a nice video of a point, flush, and retrieve this season.

You know if it’s on video it’s going to be a nice point, flush, *bang* *bang* *bang*, and then a bunch of cursing lol

That’s why I’ll let someone else do the shooting! rotflol

Great looking dogs! I’m down to 2 wirehairs, all have been waterfowl first. once ducks are done then it’s time for grouse.i love the breed..

Nice pics. Are your dogs Deutsche Dratts or are they American bred?

Drahts are bred in America too.

Correct. American bred, German registry. That said my younger dog’s father was imported from Germany, so there are some German bred Drahts running around.

Ripley is from Italian lines (obviously) with a sire straight outta Sweden. rotflol
