Looking for recommendations for getting an appraisal on a Fed duck stamp collection preferably in the Twin Cities area.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

THX and happy & safe 4th to all!

My father does appraisals for coins and antiques. I’m not sure if he has experience with duck stamps but if he wasnt able to assist he may know someone who can. If interested PM me and I’ll give you his number

There is a national duck stamp collectors Society or Association out there. Google search it.

I found them when my dad was looking to downsize his collection. They have a dealer listing on their website. I know there are local dealers listed on their website.

Make it clear that you want an appraisal and be willing to pay for it. Selling the collection in part or whole to the same dealer who appraises it seems very risky to me. Big temptation to underpriced key parts of the collection in order to acquire a cheaply. Obviously a reputable dealer would be above that but…

Ebay’s always a good place to start. Do a search for the sold listings and you’ll find a ton of sold comps. Make notes and add it all up. Should get you pretty close to what a collection is worth.
