Still under an inch here, hoping for more the rest of the day and week.
June 29, 2020 at 8:09 am #1953307No more drought here! Nearly 5″ so far with more on the way.
No more power here either.
June 29, 2020 at 8:10 am #1953308Just what the we needed, a good soak. Too bad it took the entire month of June to get here.
Ice CapPosts: 2161June 29, 2020 at 8:27 am #1953309Finally getting some much needed moisture here up north. A perfect light shower that will soak in and not run off. According to the forecast we are not supposed to be getting anything but we got a nice soaker going right now and looking at the sky it could be here awhile.
Guess I’m rained in at the lake for awhile yet!

I think the western side of town got popped though. I was on the patio reading and didn’t bother to come in the house. It rained about 34 drops. We’re getting some nice, straight-down rain right now and have been seeing it off and on since about 6 this morning. We just had another decent heavier dumping. My digital gauge shows .56″ right now but its still cycling collected water from the last shot so I’d expect the amount to be closer to maybe .63″. The radar shows some more weather building a bit and coming our way so we’ll see more before this system ends today. The garden and Ma’s flower beds were thirsty so this is welcome.
We’ve had some thunder this morning too but no hail or high winds. Those two elements I can do nicely without but I do like the lightning and thunder and watching clouds boil. I’ll grab a lawn chair and sit just inside the garage and watch the light show and the clouds.
Brad DimondPosts: 1452June 29, 2020 at 10:14 am #1953325I live three miles west of MSP, my rain gauge tops out at 8 inches and was full this morning. More falling, any drought here is mitigated.
B-manPosts: 5799June 29, 2020 at 10:41 am #1953341Drove through Wisconsin on 94 a couple hours ago.
The amount of water is crazy. Hwy 63 is shutdown.
Some cars caught in the flood and homes evacuated.
Sounds like everyone is safe

June 29, 2020 at 10:55 am #1953354As soon as it stops I will check the gauge. Looks to be near the top.
Update. Just stopped. 4.5″ Wowsa! My sump pit is dripping and has been on pumping. That rarely happens.June 29, 2020 at 12:44 pm #1953401Here’s a picture I took at 11:55….last night! Right before the sirens went off. Then a picture from my dad’s vehicle as we drove to JB Lures for some crawler harnesses (but they’re closed down). We got about 6.5″ total and I guess Winthrop got about 8″.

June 29, 2020 at 8:22 pm #1953511Looks like the area around Brainerd, Little Falls, Mille Lacs, and eastward to Duluth is getting it this evening.
Droptinex2Posts: 77June 29, 2020 at 10:39 pm #1953534just got back up to Mille Lacs about 10:00. Had 1.75 inches in our gage. South side of the lake.
June 29, 2020 at 11:17 pm #1953537On Mille Lacs right now and we have been getting pounded for about 7 hours. The amount of rain is unreal.
CharlesPosts: 1940June 30, 2020 at 7:40 am #1953559The central portion of the state around Brainerd east to Duluth was the driest too. I expect most of the drought to be mitigated when the updated monitor comes out on Thursday…

I love JB’s lures! Are they closed down permanetly or just because of the Covid? I’m originally from down that way and drive by there when I go home to visit. My almost first wife was from Winthrop but I got cold feet and backed out. I was 19!

Finally got some rain yesterday/this morning. It was definitely needed! One of the driest stretches I can remember here for a while.
June 30, 2020 at 9:07 am #1953585Lots of rain yesterday and over night on the south end of Mille Lacs.
Lightning and thunder as dawn was breaking but no strong winds.June 30, 2020 at 10:37 am #19536281.25″ yesterday for me. Needed it. 7″ in places in the areas west of the Twin Cities. Maybe a biiiiit much.

June 30, 2020 at 3:01 pm #1953708Ice Cap –
They had signs up saying they were closed and looks like they are trying to sell the building. But it says orders can be placed online. So I’m not sure… might be looking to move into a new building?
August 8, 2020 at 3:59 pm #1963495Drought is creeping back into portions of the central part of state, the arrowhead, and southeastern MN. I live in the west metro and I haven’t had any rain in almost 3 weeks now.
