Installing mine today. My buddy had one on his Lund Baron, worked nicely.

I just got one on a new Warrior purchase. Talked into it by The Boat Center. I fish alone most of the time and it does help, both in and out. I like it.

Always put the strap and safety chain on in addition. I do it right at the ramp.

I’ve had one on three different rigs, wouldn’t be without one.

One of THE best investments I’ve ever made for my boat.
Works great with a bunk trailer but i would for sure use the safety straps in and out if I had a roller trailer.

I have one on my new boat. Launching has been nice. I am currently 0 for 3 loading the boat. doah I think once I get the trailer depth figured out with different ramp slopes it should work great.

I have one and it is great. I had to extend the ubolt on the boat out a bit, so I was able to latch both the strap and safety chain. That may be overkill but why take a chance. I will say that with my last boat with the drotto latch there was a fine line to having the motor trimmed up too far as I power loaded or it would sometimes lift the bow over the latch and it would miss. I figured the sweet spot out after a few tries. My present boat that hasn’t been the case it has hit every time.

Is there a way to lock these on? Looks like it is held on with just one bolt? I could see them disappearing…

Drotto and Trick Steps for the trailer. Have them both. They’re an excellent combination.

Might not have spent the money on one but bought a used 1825 pro guide a couple years ago. Already had it installed on the boat. Any boat i buy from now on will have a drotto. Love it

For a roller trailer they’re a great idea if you’re allowed to power-load.

For a bunk trailer I see them as unnecessary?

Put one on last year and very happy with it. I unhook the strap at top of ramp leaving safety chain on, back in to just float the boat, lean over the bow to unhook safety chain and hang it on winch capstan, pull latch release and away you go. Coming back in drive on trailer till latch engages, rehook safety chain and pull out. Before pulling out and while still in boat I’ll check that boat is centered on trailer. It usually is but if not, with the boat latched I can turn the engine and power to center. Before driving away hook and tighten the strap. For my Lund Impact I had to move the capstan forward on the trailer to install the latch. I drilled holes and added a receiver lock to prevent theft.

Have a Drotto since last year. Outstanding. I fish alone quite a bit and the Drotto makes launching and retrieving a breeze. I have a 20′ rope attached to the forward cleat – hit the Drotto latch and the boat rolls off (roller trailer). To retrieve I get the trailer close along side the dock, drive on till it latches and step on the trailer fender and hop up on the dock. Attach crank and safety chain and drive off. Boat is a Lund 1775 Impact.

Don’t have one personally but one of my buddies has one and loves it. I’ve been thinking about getting one since I’ve seen how nice it works.

I’ve had mine since 2010 and I’m using it with a 16 foot Crestliner. Makes launching and retrieval a breeze.

I have one, I am very happy with it. With the ez steps it is a great setup. One thing to be aware of is you will probably need to move the winch post forward 2 to 3 inches.

Love mine. I launch alone most of the time. 21 foot Skeeter. Still can latch the winch strap and safety chain on the bow loop. I still hook up the winch strap before I fully pull the boat out of the water like I did before. I also got the nut lock so it doesn’t disappear.

Why even post the “no power loading signs”? Kind of like no wake zones. Just about everyone does it. I fish by myself so I just pull mine onto the trailer with a rope. Easy peasy in and out in a snap.

anyone ever try a Drotto latch on a split bow roller design like this? Not sure how it would work.

I just installed one this winter Denny. We have used it once and it worked great. Just had to back the trailer in a bit more to get it to latch correctly.

Certainly would be a question best answered by Drotto. That said, I don’t see it working if installed in place of the upper roller. I would think the attachment point would have to be a solid location (not on an arm which can pivot).

I love mine! My eyelet is too far to reach from the bow on my Lund, so the drotto is a MUST if fishing alone. 3 years and very happy! Get one!

I brought the boat home this afternoon and stopped @ Scheels Sports after calling ahead and picked up one. I got the locking nut coming in the mail, most likely won’t be needed but what the hay!
