    Hi guys,

Anyone know where I can get a drop hitch for a truck with a 4″ body lift? What I’m looking for are those heavy duty drop hitches, not the ones you can pick up at any local auto parts store that are of the “Reese” brand, etc. Is there a custom truck accessory shop you know of? Thanks!

You might check out the Cabela’s catalog. They offer a drop down hitch that is actually made in Sidney, Nebraska…it has a rubber cushion built into the center that takes off some of the shock. I have an 8″ drop down for my 3500 Ram.

Try a Radco truck accessory shop they deal in CURT trailer hitch, many around the metro area.

I’m guesing your looking at a heavy duty adjustable for pulling heavy trailers like a skid trailer

Better yet call TRUCK UTILITIES inc off of english and highway 36 if they cant get what you want its not made. Heck they will make what you want.

I thought Fleet Farm carried Curt drop hitches. What rating are you looking for?

A place that sells cargo trailers will have heavy duty ones, and they can get them in almost any size.. We bought a few for work from http://www.mgtrailer.com in Ramsey

I should clarify, it’s a suspension lift, not a body. I’m not looking to tow anything crazy in weight, but the current drop hitch I have allows a little too much give when towing my fiberglass boat. All told, that’s about 6000lbs give or take. That particular drop hitch was purchased at Northern Tool, in fact, and only allows me a 5″ drop. I’ve seen the serious ones on other lifted trucks. My wheel house doesn’t tow well at all when she’s up at too much of an angle.

Thanks for all the tips, guys!

I was joking as I assumed you put bigger tires on.

I was curious so I checked Fleet Farm website and they do cary down to a 10 inch drop CURT drop hitch. I would call ahead to make sure they have one on the shelf.

Be sure to get the higher weight rating.
After looking it looks like the six inch drop only has the higher rating at 7500# as the more drop only rated at 5000#

The best best to look is rigid hitch. I bought a 7″ drop that was rated for 12k. I am a dealer for them so if they have one that works for you let me know what the part number is and I can save you some money. Rigidhitch.com
