Drop away rest options.

Hi all. I’m in the market for a new rest. Have been using a Whisker Biscuit for several years and it works fine for hunting. Problem is it eats vanes when practicing and I know my old TMs afforded better accuracy. I intend on switching to a drop away rest. I hear great things about them. I am on a budget, i.e, I’m a tightbutt. What are my options and what do you all prefer? I do appreciate your help.

QAD rip cord and trophy taker are all decent drop always. The lower line QAD goes for around $50-60 and it’s a decent drop away.

I had a rip cord drop away on my last bow and really liked it. Would have gone with it again on the current bow but it came with a mathews brand drop away on it (which also works just fine).

You can’t go wrong with the Ultra Rest drop away, and like the Whisker Biscuit your arrow can’t fall off the rest. Most of my friends are shooting the Ultra. Your accuracy will improve with a drop away, especially if you are shooting longer distances.

Couple extra thoughts, I went and looked at the new model drop aways and some, like the new ripcord, come with felt pads on where the arrow rests. If you get one that doesn’t I would suggest adding some, makes it silent on the draw back amd I noticed no reduction of accuracy with it on versus off.

Also with both my ripcord amd mathews rest I added the product attached to help keep it from falling off with the rest in the down resting position. I have literally held my bow horizontally amd this thing keeps the arrow in place.
