Draft and float Tyee 186 GL

I’ve been all over the internet and Lund catalogues and can not find any spec for draft for my 2014 186 Tyee GL. New to florida fishing and I get in to some shallow water. Any ideas what this boat drafts? I am assuming a draft number is from water line down to bottom of motor. I would also be interested in the minimum water depth this boat will float in with motor up. My Lund is equipped with 200 Verado, 9.9 Merc kicker and a 80# Minn Kota on the bow. Next step, go to the beach and measure!!

I think you answered your own question. Your draft is always going to depend on the combined weight of your gear, fuel, passengers, etc, so in my opinion, even if you find some source on the web that says “the draft of your boat is X,” I’d take it with a grain of salt. No substitute for first-hand observation and measurement, provided you do it the right way.

I am assuming a draft number is from water line down to bottom of motor.

My understanding: When you see published draft specs (more common to find for Bay boats as opposed to boats like yours), they’re talking water line to the lowest point of the keel.

    You’re correct.
