I’m stoked! Dove hunting is one of my favorites and it opens tomorrow. The sunflowers haven’t looked better in 20 years and the birds are here. Cool Temps to boot! I took a few days off to hunt, I hope these night time Temps below 60 don’t move our birds south. Should bee a great shoot tomorrow! Early goose also opens tomorrow, and our daily limit is 5. Teal opens the 3rd and we have some birds around now. I love this time of year!!!!! Now if the Mississippi would only calm down. Anyways, if anyone else is going out tomorrow, be safe and have a good hunt!

What state are you in Robby? I’m getting super pumped for the MN youth waterfowl day and bow opener.

Man, I wish we had doves in huntable numbers around my hunting property. That would just be terrific. I would love to be able to hunt doves every year.

    Good luck out there.

I’ll be in the blind in the morning around 9 or 10 for bears. They were at my bait all day today.

I’m guessing he is in Illinois as they have an early teal season and September goose that opens on the 1st. I could be wrong though. I believe Iowa also has september goose, but it opens the same time ours does (Saturday).

Good luck with Bruno! The grandson is at the cabin doing the same thing.

Mex, you are correct. I live about 30 miles east of the Quad Cities in Cambridge, IL. Grouse, plan some sunflowers and or wheat, Mylo, oats, and you will get doves. These crops also support other windlife!!!! We had a blast!! Limits. Dove/citrus stir fry soon! Anyways, bedtime. More birds tomorrow hopefully. Be sweet Paraceet!

Unfortunately, we just don’t have the concentrations of small grain to hold the numbers of doves in the area where my farm/hunting property is. It’s almost exclusively cattle ranching and the crops that are grown are forage crops, not grain crops. It’s already getting bare as the silage cutting has started.

    Good shooting.

Grouse, find a farm, a cattle operation where are they chop corn for silage and you will be set. Gooses like these fields too.
