Go out on a favorite local bass lake, throw the usual jerkbait and catch everything except…

Didn’t think highly of the hair jig. It’s the only thing the smallies would hit today. Go figure. Broke the steering cable on my Ultrexx, too. That’s annoying. Nice day tho.

Bummer on the Ultrexx… I did that pulling out of a SoDak lake 2 years ago in 45 mph winds… quick fix though (if the dealer isn’t backed up).
Looks like a fun day, FryDog, except for that walleye.
“Golden” carp ?!? Lol
Frydog you show off !!
looks like a great day indeed !! wish I could of been up there this year, sigh.
anyway, why is it when a guy has it in his head to go bluegill fishing you catch everything but so you switch to crappie fishing and guess what?? yep, you catch a bunch of gills.
And then you go pike fishing, and?? yep, walleye after walleye,,,,,and when I go walleye fishing???? shut up EPG !!!!

I know, I need to go target some “eater” largemouth and catch a 7 pounder! Not holding my breath…
heres how you do that,,,, take a blue and chrome rattle trap and go fish the coontails in eight feet of water or lilly pads in three feet of water for pike or walleye when the water temps warm up, so many dang bass you cant count them.
This is a no sh! story, three years ago on a lake east of Bemidji several miles, one of those guys who emulate a walleye pro in every aspect, ya know, big fancy boat, glow in the dark clothes with a zillion brand names on them etc was fishing the lilly pads and pins a 7-3/4 lb largemouth, you could hear that guy yelling clean across the lake!! heck I wouldve of too.
Haha and lol… I think I know the guy. Probably a bass expert now too – anyone can do it
Here’s one of the 4.5 pounders I caught too – gonna wait til it grows to a 7 and then hook it to my rod and reel it in…
or you could do the like the dang cheater on a local lake years ago when I fished bass tournies here and there, that effer stuffed two pounds of lead into a three pound fish, luckily he got ratted out by his partner in the boat.
that and the officials thought something was odd with the looks of the bass.
It was kind of a struggle for us yesterday too. Caught a mess of fish but no size. Best bass was just under 4 and caught a nice bonus pike.
Most came on Jerk, bladed jig and Texas rigged. Did see some fish on beds but they were making wide circles which led me to believe they were ready to bite and was proved right. Fun day though.
