    That’s it I’ve had it waiting for ice. Gave up on it this year not going until next year.

    Well it’s now next year and I wake up to find that the temps are warmer than when I went to bed. Planning on checking some small lakes this afternoon and hoping it shows a chance to walk on water at sun up tomorrow but already having my doubts.

    I gave up on last year already. This year is not looking much better out this way.

    I was out yesterday but the only way to define the ice as safe was because I didn’t fall through. Found 1.5-2″ of ice with at least the same in water and slush on top. Caught a few small fish so at least I was able to scratch the itch but it was sketchy to say the least. Going to keep scouting and give it a few more days but thinking this slush layer on top of the ice is going to screw us for a while.
