Oakley and Lucy, waiting for the week on Rainy. Both gone, Oak was my dog they say you get one in a lifetime. Went to work with me, slept in our bed. Could tell him to “spot”, come back 4 hours later and he would be laying right there. Many peoples favorite dog.

July 13, 2023 at 2:30 am #2213205These are my two labs. My yellow will be 1 year old on July 17th and the black pup is 8 weeks old as of July 11th. I will be hunting over my yellow this upcoming hunting season. as for the black pup I plan to start his obedience training soon and then come December he will be heading down to Texas with a pro trainer for 4 months. He should hopefully come back and be able to start running AKC Junior Hunt Tests. then after getting his Junior title, I will continue to train him and work for his Senior title. then the ultimate goal will be to get his Master title by the time he is three or four years old.

July 26, 2023 at 1:45 pm #2215640She’s far from a hunting dog but she pulled at my heart strings from the day we got her home. We unfortunately had to put her down today. I cried like a baby. I’m taking her to the cabin to bury her there where we spent countless day. I’m already feeling lost

MX1825Posts: 3319July 27, 2023 at 12:43 pm #2215878We have another fishing partner besides our 12 year old dog Daisy. We recently adopted a pup-meet Keena. She did really well in the boat for a first time. Had to keep an eye on her or she would be chewing on trolling motor wires, rod tips, fishing line, or bobbers.

Chuck I hear you, your right bites but know that time eventually comes

I’m sorry for your loss. My chocolate lab is approaching 14 and I know we are getting closer to that day.
steelslinger71Posts: 163July 27, 2023 at 7:28 pm #2215953Sorry about your pup Glenn. I once heard a saying that went “the first day you bring your pup home is the first day to eventual heartbreak”. It sure is but still worth it.

August 27, 2023 at 10:21 pm #2221114our 10 year old Doberman Oklee. she would basically lay in front of my truck if I did not take her with. it is going to be tough when that day comes. I help her in and out of the boat but the best fishing partner i could ever ask for.
we have been through loss before many times. it is not fair to outlive our best friends…….cherish every day.

Matt SayerPosts: 33September 26, 2023 at 2:05 pm #2226409Feeling really bad for my big buddy. yesterday I came home to him limping and no friggin idea why. He was fine when I left. This morning he wouldn’t put weight on his one front paw, it’s swollen. I had to work hard to get him off the bed to eat. Even eating lunch he never left the bed. I gave him an ibuprofen so I hope it helps. I looked his paw over, from what I can tell nothing is broke and it doesn’t look like anything is stuck in his paw

Gitchi GummiPosts: 2963September 26, 2023 at 2:14 pm #2226413glenn, what part of the paw is swollen? I wonder if some sort of small cut got infected. try soaking the paw in water with a couple tablespoons of epsom salt for 10-15 min
