Our three big babies
Is that your lawn? That grass is already looking very thick and green.
yes its my lawn but that picture was taken last summer lol
Now that makes more sense. I’d be shocked if that was the current state of it.

Cody scented these about 80 feet from shore.
My yellow was named Colby. I love Labs.

Our three big babiesGreat pic!
Thanks
It was too quiet in the house after losing our old boy Boone last summer so last weekend we met this guy. Owner is going to hold him until after our opener trip so he will come home just before memorial day (and we will need to have come to agreement on a name by then)
What kind of dog is the little one on the right?
In regards to coletrains recent pic.
Steve on the left and Stella on the right. He’s half pomeranian and she’s half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They’re both half toy poodle. Designer mutts.
My golden retriever on pain meds
dang coopy…hope he gets better quick. gotta be a bummer for the pooch!!!!!!

Cavalier poodle mix. We got her from our neighbor who decided they didn’t want a dog. The other 2 are heeler/collie mix
Coop hope your Golden gets better.
Looks like he is on some good stuff!
Love seeing the new additions
Exactly Randy, this thread is good for the heart.
Found you can have the crappiest of days and scrolling through all the dog pics here makes ya smile
Last summer we got new neighbors. They have a dog also. This is shadow, my dog checking to see if his new buddy can come out to play!
I’d love to know why he won’t use a fetch stick off the ground…
Bahaha, hillhiker, that is a cute photo! I guess he wants a “fresh” stick rather than a used one off the ground!
Lost our 12.5 yo springer. Only made it 2 days without another. Still have another 10 yo springer. We have a little more energy in our home now.
My 12 1/2 year old Springer is in decline. Thinking about the next dog. I’ve had Springers sine 1985. Considering a Small Munsterlander for the next dog. Anyone have experience with the breed?
Anyone have experience with the breed?
One of my hunting partners has a male. I can’t comment on what kind of house or family dog it is, but it is a terrible field dog. It chased cattle, didn’t listen, chewed up birds, and its coat caught every burr in the countryside. That dog didn’t go with again. It wasn’t neutered either, so maybe it was hopped up on hormones too.
Bear in mind that is my only experience with one. I’m sure there are plenty that are good field dogs.
Sometimes when the truck windows are down and the sheet in the back seat is flapping, Cody accidentally gets underneath it when he turns around to lay down.
My big doofus and my brothers dog of course there was food involved.

No Small (or Large for that matter) Munsterlander experiance but I ran a string for both AKC and FDSB field trial dogs back in the 80s & 90s. I also worked personal birddogs.
In my experiance the more “exotic” the breed the less the odds are that the average guy will get a decent dog. Buy a GSP from NAVHDA or gun dog AKC trial stock to start. Then ONLY SHOOT POINTED BIRDS. You should have a reliable dog by age 2. I’d also consider a field GWP but they can be a little “carnal” and may have a certain sharpness. Pudelpointers are another breed to look at.

Thanks. My crew is transitioning to pointers, two GWPs and a pointing Lab. I am the last one with a flusher. A local friend has a Small Munsterlander that impresses me. She’s biddable, friendly and he speaks well of her nose. That said, I haven’t hunted over her. Also considering a Brittany Spaniel. My uncle ran them for decades. He’s gone so no referal from him.
