Does anyone know of a person that trainers pointers in either WI or MN. I am looking for a good person who includes birds in the price. any help so i can get my partner all trained up?
Call Terry Holzinger at Holzinger Kennels. Terry is the resident trainer at the Horse & Hunt Club in Savage and I have had my last two GSP’s trained by him.
Couldn’t have asked for better results and the pricing is fairly affordable as well.

Justin are they pretty affordable? I have heard many good things about them.
i called them and the price was to high for me. I found a guy in Portage, WI that was cheaper and is doing a great job. Going down this week agian to see the progress
I picked my dog up today for the weekend after two weeks of bird intro. He ran her through the field and showed me what she has learned with several quail. Fired shotgun over her with no problem. Her bird drive is intense. I think everything is going to work out.
Final week 3. Picked her up today. They hunted 3 quail and 1 pheasant over her. She is definitely a bird dog. Flushed and retrieved them all. Intro to birds took 3 weeks and came to $1200. With 7 weeks of obedience training before getting back to birds I will have to call it quits and continue myself. The distance and expense is beyond my means. I cannot thank Terry Holzinger enough for his patience and profesionalism. He knows what he’s doing and I credit his patience for working through my dogs sensitivities. I would recommend him to anyone.
I should add that my cost was a little higher than normal because I left her there over two weekends and the extra week also meant twice as many training birds.
So she is a lot like her master. Glad the training went well!
Funny guy. She was jumpy to the flush and gunfire. Terry worked her through it masterfully. She still jumped back when that pheasant flushed today but charged right back. Like he said her bird instinct pulls her through all the rough spots. If I can train control I think she will be very good.
