My lab pup has an ear infection that I just discovered this weekend. Do any of you guys have a home remedy that I can treat her with until I can get into the vet on Tuesday?

I haven’t used this to “treat” an ear infection, but we use it as a regular cleaner and have not had an infection since.

Thanks for the reply I’m glad there are other options out there than taking your dog to the vet every time they get and ear infection. Because I noticed the ear infection on the holiday weekend I didn’t want to wait until Tuesday to take her to the vet so I went on line and found a cure that called for a 50/50 mix of apple cider vinegar and water. Cleaned her ear twice daily for three days and by the fourth day she was completely cured. May not work in every situation but it was a cheap and effective cure that saved a trip to the vet.

I really like the home remedy option. That is cool.
What I keep in stock and lasts a long time is Epi-Otic ear cleanser and dryer. I have never had an ear infection I couldnt clear up in several days using this. Now I use it after a weekend of swimming to avoid the issue altogether.

Did you ever figure out what it was? My lab got a fungal infection in the ears this summer. Apparently labs are prone to fungal infections as they get water in their ear and can’t shake it all out.

    FYI LAB GUYS.

Never did find out what kind of ear infeciton it was because by the time I got back home from the long holiday weekend it was cured and I didn’t take her to the vet. I’m sure it was water related because I take her swimming 3 or 4 times per week.

I found Epi-Otic to be expensive, and it didn’t do much for Floyd. Since I have switched to the home-cleaner that I posted, he has not had an infection (2+ years), and it costs next to nothing. I do attribute some of that to his immune system maturing, but it is hard to argue with results

No doubt. Now that I know you have compared them I am inclined to try it. Thanks.
