What types of winter training can a guy got done? I know I can get the FF done inside and some outside. I’ll have a new pup this summer and want it ready for some hunt tests by next spring. Most of the real training will fall during the winter months for this one.
What cant be done? Game farms have birds through winter up here and it mostly depends on snow depth. I see your in central Iowa. Can you repeatedly get in front of wild birds in your area or do you need a game farm like we do to guarantee flushing action?
My Shorthair pup went through 3 weeks of training in February with no issues at all. Should be fine on a do it yourself basis as long as you can find ample cover.
