How old is too old to start training?

Due to someone’s divorce, I may have the opportunity to get a fox red colored pure bred lab for free. It is 19 months old. I haven’t received all of the information yet, so I am not sure how much work has been done with the dog as far as training for hunting. It sounds like it has all of the general obedience and house breaking down. If he hasn’t been hunted with, is this too old to start? I assume it’s not too old, but figured I would get some expert opinions.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chad.

I do not think it is ever too old to start working with a dog, but the challenge will be breaking any bad/undesireable habits that the dog may have developed.

Dogs are never too old to learn. If you have the time, they will learn.

Good luck with the new dog!
