New litter of pups

We just had our new litter of lab pups all black with 6 male and 3 female. My question is are there things that I can do now to prevent the pups from being gun shy as well as when can I start to get them in the water to play around? I will be using the bathtub do to the fact that the lakes are frozen.

Buy a plastic swimming pool. They love it! I use mine as a welping pen too. They clean easily and will usually keep them contained till about 5 weeks. When ya ween I make mush out of puppy chow and powdered milk replacer. The pups are funny to watch wallowing in the mush. Labs don’t care if their dirty.Have fun!
