Congrats guys on another great mega minnow show. Brings back some great memories Steve when you and I used to fish that lake together.

I would have to say this was Molly’s break out year, she really picked up the program this year, get the shotgun out in the house and work the action, she starts doing backflips, no sign of gun shyness(thanks Don)tracks and picks up bird scents, wonderful range, loves to hunt kind of sad the season is over

Sam the 9 year old has now lost a step but still is as sharp as ever and the pup has come along real well. She was able to get 5 retrieves in and started to point near the end of the season. Personally I had a hard time finding birds this year but all in all was a decent year getting 22 for myself and 7 others shot over my dogs.

Nali the 11 year old yellow lab had not been out for a few years. We got her in the woods a couple days this year and even with a bad shoulder her eyes lit up and you would have thought she was 3 again. Got her back to the cabin and she commanded the couch but with a waggin tail from every approach. Gotta love em’

Overall a good year, would of liked to seen more birds. Tough conditions now with the snow. Had to take a couple of days off to heal up the paws.

Yes indeed. My boy Rufus is 10 now and we are going on our last hunt of the year tomorrow here in MN. We might still see a few game farms in Jan & February, but the regular season comes to an end tomorrow.

Rufus still can hunt hard all day but he needs time to recoop. He still has his moments where he really makes me proud and continues to amaze me each year. I just hope we can share a few more seasons together, before that time comes.

    Man, I love that DOG!

Maggie had her best year so far. After some careful work with the e-collar her ranging problem was solved and she was on fire for scenting and working out trails. At this point I can’t think of anything more that I could ask for from her

Great post Kirt! Jazzi had a great year. I feel guilty for not getting out more though. Last year the light really turned on and this year was no different. I don’t know if she has changed her technique, but she had a lot less points this year than last. I guess I bought her as a flusher anyway so it doesn’t bother me. She also made two great retrieves on running birds this year that I think she would have given up on last season. The season is over for us, but I’m hoping to hit the game farm a few times. I got an email from my Mom yesterday saying that Jazzi brought back 2 cottontails that she found running around their yard. The hunter strikes again!

Nice pics Rob, nice looking dog. I grew up with beagles but I picked up my first lab late this past spring. She’s 7 months now and is showing real promise in being a great shed hunting buddy. I never was able to get her on a bird but I’m not much of a bird hunter anyway so I wasn’t overly concerned about that. I’m amazed at how quick she has picked up all the basic obedience training. I’ve been training her with some sheds that I bagged up this past spring to keep them free of human scent and the first time I seen her get “sheddy” while being about 20 yards downwind of shed I was one proud pappa
