Got a question, Molly doesnt eat when she is on the road, she wont touch her dog food at all, at home no problem she eats when she is hungry, at home she eats when she feels like it. we spent 3 days in No Dak and she did not eat, she will eat milk bones and like treats. Although she has not eaten yet, she wont eat when she is tired.

I am thinking I need to bring some treats with more nutrition than milk bones

my dog does the same thing, hardly eats when we’re on the road. this year on my trip to SD i brought his dog dish from home, he seemed to eat a little more. i do try to give him plenty of treats but i can’t make him eat.

Use a meaty canned food like Science Diet. Feed 1/2 ration after the days hunt. If you use a performance glycogen product, use it at this time. A couple hours later that night, feed the rest of the daily portion.

My last dog was the same way and she wouldn’t even eat canned food. On a hard hunt she would lose quite a bit of weight. Anybodt have an idea why they do that?

Madison will only do it on the 4th or 5th day of hunting hard I think she just get plain old to tired to eat. The first 3 days she scarfs her food down with the best of them

as others have said, mix their food with some canned food. or try feeding them in a “normal place”, such as the crate in the back of the truck, instead of in the hotel room. that might help.

i spend quite a few weekends hunting out of town, and sometimes i have to sit there next to him to get to eat.
