If anyone has any information or insight on avenues for aquiring a hunting Springer pup please pass along. My wife and I are interested and so far my only avenue is searching the internet and kennels with websites.
    Thank you.

I will second that springer. My uncle has one. She is only about 30-40 lbs and she can move, listens well and has a great nose. There Is a breader in walker/cass lake area which is supose to be towards the top for breeding hunting line spaniels. If I come across the name I will let you no other wise do a search. If they dont have a web site I can get the name on mon or tues. I was told about them from some one I am getting my next labs from. He is out of town till mon/tues. if you need the info let me no.

All I can rember at this time is two brothers own it I think.

I had a Springer Spaniel runt, she had the most spunk of a dog I’ve ever seen, great for wood cock and grouse, if the conditions were right good at pheasants too. The thing I did not like was after getting home and and cleaning the birds, was getting all the burdocks out of the dog.
I’ll keep my ears open for a dog for you.

the reason i asked is i have a springer, he wieghs in at 55-60 lbs. he is an absilute hunting machine, very good family dog, well mannered, easy to train. BUT he makes the energizer bunny look lazy. needs a LOT of excersise. now i know all dogs have there own personality but if someone is at home this dog will not quiet. don’t get me wrong i am not complaining it’s just springers require extra time.
the guy i got my dog from got his from north star kennals in scandia.

    good luck

Thanks for the input. I’m waiting anxiously to find out if the breeder I settled on has a pregnant dog!
