OMG I just tried to pick up all the winter’s supply of dog apples in the yard. Overwheliming would be putting in mildly! I think I’ll give the spring rains a chance to disolve all it can and just stick with the fresh ones…

How close are your neighbors ? If they are less than 90 yards, grab an 8 iron and a pair of goggles and work on your swing…

This thread made my day. I just finished the duty myself this afternoon. Started with a pooper scooper and a bag, ended with a garden spade over the shoulder to the unfinished lot next door. Warning! When using over the shoulder, use a side arm!

Ok – this thread is not funny anymore because I don’t have a dog and my neighbors do! I hope they don’t read this post.

    Wear old shoes.

Ironically I went through the same thing just today. I try to keep up on the pup piles as best I can but this winter was bad with all the snow. It is hard to pick what you can’t see. Today was the day to clean everything up and it is amazing how much a 100 lb lab can drop on the yard in 3 months.

You should see the pile 6 hounds will make over winter! We try to keep after it all winter and make a compost pile of sorts. That pile is 3 ft high by 6ft long now. The compost comes from the hay they drag out of the houses that gets scooped up. Still able to fill a wheelbarrow from the yard a few times after the snow melts.

You should see the piles next to the runs of the dogs that are kept chained up by some guys. Whn I visit these guys i wnat to pet the dogs, but am afraid to walk into the dog lots!

Dogs don’t like messing in their own yard. Take them for a walk or good workout in the morning and again in the afternoon. They will take care of business while out in the field. Thus your clean up around the yard will be minimal.

I started on that project Friday. I went with the raking leaves and grass method. Then just pile it in the street and put a lighter to it.

Unforunately, all this snow today will put that project on hold for a while now.
