You can check with trainers, they usually will sell them. Not the cheapest way to go. The last time I checked they wanted 6 bucks apiece.

Thanks guys, Just got a new pup a 8 month old Vizsla. I’m really looking forward working this dog. Now we just need to lose all this white stuff on the ground and really get down to business.

Just make sure the pigeons you get are good fliers!! I have purchased some that were horrible fliers…luckily the puppy was very young and just learning the game and did not catch any of them.

Rather than pay for the birds buy a couple of lite duty live traps and head for the country. Farmers are happy to let you trap pigeons and the traps will last a lifetime of dog training

Grain elevator might be another option to place traps. Where I work we would most likely allow it, but others may not.

Yeap an elevator, pigeon trap, and a 12 pack. Don’t forget the 12 pack . Trap will run around 40 bucks, 12 pack about $16, and just pick up some loose corn while at the elevator. If you can get the trap up off the ground you will have less problems with half eaten pigeons. And chain that bad boy down.

6 BUCKS???? Holy Smokes if I paid 6 bucks for a pigeon I would have to eat it.

Do you do your own trapping?
