I have a friend who has a 3 year old male chocolate lab that is just a psycho for retrieving, he is a very muscular and powerful dog. This lab would retrieve all day long till he dropped dead if you let him, I just know with the right training he would be an awesome dock dog. Anyone know of any trainers for dock jumping within a reasonable distance to the Rochester area?

    Steve,

I’ve watched these guys at the Twin Cities Pet Expo the past few years. I’m sure they could put you in touch with someone in the area.

If you are in the Eau Claire, WI area on the weekend of August15-17, we will be running dock dog competition at the Chippewa Valley Outdoor Games…They really put on quite a show…Stihl Timbersports will be here as well as will the Outdoor Channel….

    Steve,

Some might think I’m an a hole for asking this, But why would you want to risk hurting your hunting companion to prove that he can jump off a dock? I know a guy that had a super nice lab, and she blew a knee out doing something like this. He got it fixed for 1200$ and the other knee blew, then he had to put her down.

Steve I don’t know if the people that I know train directly but they have an awesome lab in Austin. They might be able to help you out. PM me if you are interested.
