Frontline, Advantix, something else????

What do most of you use for flea and tick prevention? I have looked at Frontline and Advantix but don’t know for sure what to use. I read that the frontline only kills fleas and ticks, while the Advantix kills and repels fleas, ticks, and mosquitos. The in-laws have always used Frontline and are happy with it, but if Advantix is really that much better, we may go that route since the cost is about the same. Or is there another product that you prefer?

I use Frontline and have been happy with it. It is best to keep them out of the water for a couple of days after applying it.

I am trying Bio-Spot this year; it is about a 1/3rd of the price of frontline or K9-Advantix. So far I am very happy with the performance. I am keeping a close eye on my shorthair, and will switch back to one of the more expensive brands if it is not working. Is this year worst for everybody; this is the worst tick season my dogs have gone through.
