I got this nice Lab 1 1/2 yr. old spay female. She licks way too much. Anyone and everyone. She is an inside dog, tried everything I can think of to get her to stop or at least slow down. Any suggestions ??? Thanks d.j.
Might just be her nature. I have an almost 13 yr old Yellow male and he has been a “licker” all his life as well. Some say it’s from boredom, other’s dry skin, allergies, the list goes on…… I think the dog just really likes to lick!! He’s a house dog as well and it absolutely drives my wife nuts!! Needless to say, he no longer sleeps in the bedroom! 
I have a buddy who has a female lab that has the same problem. He took her to the vet and they said its some kind of syndrome.

There are a number of reasons why she is doing it and a number of ways to stop it. The quickest way, that I have used for biting dogs- that will also work for lickers is to use bitter apple spray. You should be able to find it anywhere pet supplies are sold.
