Guys, keep a close eye on your dogs during the hot spells. Someone I know just lost 2 dogs due to the heat. Keep exercise to a minimum. Walks early and late in the day is all I am doing at the present time. Make sure the dogs are hydrated.
We all know this but it is easy to over do it with our hard charging dogs.

Hey Don- How could someone who own’s what it sounds like, “multiple dogs”, be not aware of what to do to keep them healthy and happy during a heat wave. I am not trying to be a jerk, but as a 2 lab owner and fighting those temps, let’s look out for these guys, I mean man’s best friend’s……..

I hear ya. It doesn’t take long when it is this hot. The dogs were not over exerted but over exposed. I am not defending anyone just wanted to make everyone aware to keep a close eye on their dogs.

I string a white to the sun tarp out to increase the shaded area available. A large dark dog can over heat just from the sun.
I have also found that dogs that have a serious heat stroke issue often seem to loose some “nose”.
