As long as the ban is on to protect nesting birds, what are you all doing to keep up the exercise and training for younger dogs? My 8 yr old setter is content to go fishing with a swim in the Mississpi to cool off. As soon as we get cool nites in Sept she’s ready for grouse.
My wife and I are back into our walking routines. We take the dog for fast 2 mile walks 1-2 times a day. Some fetching in yard and lots of excercise including swimming on weekends. Our dog is already in noticably better condition than late winter. With this schedule it should be an easy transition to field work later in summer.
