Thought I would let everyone know the ticks are already out. My pup was diagnosed with Acute Limes today. According to the Vet this would have been contracted within the last 3 weeks! For those of you who have never whitnessed this, I hope you never have to. My pup couldn’t even pick her self up this morning.

Go get your dogs treated and get out the tick collars.

She should be fine, but it’s going to be tough on her for a couple days. My poor girl.

I treat for ticks now as soon as the snow is gone. Made this mistake three years ago and my chocolate lab got limes. Vet won’t confirm this for me but I’m convinced this took 1-2 years off her life.
If you read earlier this week, we put her down Monday, she was just a few months shy of being 11.
I have a yellow lab who’s 7 and I brought frontline home from the vet on Monday, swore it would never happen to me again.

For those of you moving from city or burbs like we did (Savage) to the country, you’re in for a rude awakening. The ticks are out early and stay late.

Ok now I’m rambling, kind of a touchy subject for me this week!

Don’t forget to take care of yourself. I had a case of limes last year, it was not a pleasant experience. Get to the dr. if you have a rash (mine was more like a sunburn, not a bullseye) or are experiencing neck pain.

Sorry to hear about your hound Chris! Not a good sign being neighbors and all. Thanks for the reminder, frontline is going on in 2 minutes…

Well, I’m all out of tick medicine so I ordered some online. As most know, the cost of tick medicine is pretty high. After some surfing and calls to my vet to check prices…http://www.drsfostersmith.com/ is by far the cheapest I’ve found, almost half the cost of my vet. Also, my vet recommends advantix over frontline for the mosquito repellant.
