    This is driving me nuts!

I put up a 6′ privacy fence this summer for the hound and between his smarts and strength he is literally breaking through the fence……

The fence is made up of 1×4 slates with 3 1×6 cross beams.
he breaks the bottom 8 inches right off! I have yet to witness this but it appears that he digs just under the fence and the pulls the board inward and snaps the 1×4 off at the first beam.

I have reinforced his target areas with 2×4 along the bottom but then he moves to a new area.. I am going nuts ready to kill him….

he gets ran 3 miles 3 times a week and I play fetch with him everyday for at least 30 min.

    HELP!!!

I need this to be really cost effient too.

There must be a dog in heat around the neighborhood. I am the same way, when I set my mind to “something”, I have been known to bust a fence or two myself.

Line the inside perimeter of the fence with a row of railroad ties. Or just run a strand of electric fence about 4 inches off the ground.

Must be a yellow lab. They sure have drive. Mine went through a loaf & a half of bread, 8 hot cocoa packets, his own bowl of food, the St Bernards 4 cups of food, some tennis balls, the carpet & the cats litter box…. All in a single afternoon..

Just hire some people to stand guard with some steaks in their back pockets..that’s my only advice.

Change his name to Braveheart.. “Freeedooooooommm”

I agree with Sharkbait $100 at fleet farm and you can have an e-fence setup in no time- the only difference between my neighbor’s setup and mine is that you can see my invisible fence – and my dogs don’t leave the airing yard.

Beside’s its fun to watch the neighbor kids find out about electricity. (Ok – I warned them first, but they didn’t believe me, wasnt my fault.)

Bucky. Invisible fence is the only way to go. Turn the collar up and they will not even come close the the edge of the yard!
