I’ve heard that the darker colored almost red is a more pure and desireable in this breed. Also that the more white or lighter colored were bred for show and have more negative traits.Anyone else agree or not?

I wouldn’t buy one period, and I have 2, the blood line are so thin, there are way too many problems with them, on old friend of mine worked at a vet clinic, I bet they’s see atleast 2-3 dogs a month with hip problems 95% of them were purebreed goldens, most had papers and “good lines” .

Then there’s the scam that the dogs are guaranties for a year, right, that’s nice, get the dogs, train them, have them be part of your family and then , trade them in for a new one, I’m sure some people can do it, I never could.

Yeah, my one dog had bad hips $2500 later he is ok, but I doubt his hips will hold up though time, and I don’t even want to think of what my options are then.

I hate to say it, but I highly, highly doubt I’ll ever buy another, even though they are great dogs.

I had a really good one from 85 through 01.I probably got lucky bought her from a family that had both parents on site. Then I bought another one and had to have her put down after she bit my son.I could be talked into changing to different breed.I just know I need to do some research this time.

We’ve had a male for 6 years and he has been a great family pet.He is super smart and loves his family. This family will always have a golden around-great dogs in my opinion.

A friend of mine has a big dark red male. He is pretty viscious If you are not careful he might lick you to death or knock you over trying to get you to pet him. And if you stop petting him, look out, he will definitely knock you over by pushing his head into you until you pet him some more. He is a really good dog with a lot of energy. Not much on hunting, but a great family pet
