DogeCoin

Buy it. Bought $10k worth 3 months ago, and now that $10k is worth $50k.

It’s sitting at just under $0.44 right now, and people won’t stop buying until it hits at least $1.00. This probably won’t explode like bitcoin, but there is still plenty of room to invest.

But then again, what does a random guy on a fishing forum know about personal finance.

Much, much higher on Pirate Chain. It actually offers real utility….disappointed that I missed the moon shot a couple weeks ago. $0.38 to $19.00 in ~18 days.

    From Entrepeneur.com:

“Dogecoin currently has 5/1 odds (16.7% implied probability) to be worth more than $1 at the end of 2021, according to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com.”

That tells you it is speculative. If you dig in to Dogecoin you find that it doesn’t really have a product that is useful, it’s more of a lark that took on a life of its own. Kind of fun to play with but I wouldn’t invest money in it that I couldn’t walk away from without regret.

Lot’s of people getting rich on Doge right now! Jumped up to $0.60 today. I don’t have enough in play to get rich, but it’s fun seeing what happens with it. May be able to pay some stuff off at least if it goes to the Moon!

    Buy and HODL!!!!!

Imagine where you’d be sitting if you put that 20K into Doge a month ago….

I’m greener than a rain forest when it comes to all of this investing stuff, so I’m not going to give you any advise, but it’s hard to ignore what’s happening with Doge right now. If I had 20K of fun money to put on something, I would buy Doge and HODL! Elon is the self-proclaimed “Dogefather” and is hosting SNL this week. My bet is that Doge will get a bit of attention after that.

    New?

Yes…new’ish. It’s really growing. Quite a few of the stocks are only driven by online/social media (or like we have here on IDO) trends to get people to invest in absolutely worthless stock. This one in particular has actually no value other then needing fools like us to invest to raise the price of those that bought a few cents less. If I bought now, I’d need to find even bigger idiots to invest in a more expense worthless stock…and so on. Sure, some will make out nice, but more than not, you probably gonna lose out.

how soon we forget 1998 and 1999. when everything you just said was taking place at an even crazier rate.

companies created out of thin air, ipo’ing immediately and all the sudden worth 8 billion dollars. look up Digiscents and TheGlobe.com. publically trading companies changing their legal names to XXX.com saw their stocks tripling within days.

Doge has a $76 BILLION market cap. Thats $10 billion more than boston scientific with no intrinsic value.

Putting $20k all in on any single stock or crypto wouldnt be something i would suggest.

My Co-Worker sold 210,000 shares at $0.52 a share. He was in at an average price of $.048

That’s around a $100,000 profit for clicking buttons on his phone.

I asked him the dreaded “IRS” question, and he said he was meeting with his accountant sometime next week to try and get ahead of it. Great problem to have.

Doge peaked at $0.69 overnight and is currently hovering around $0.65. Too bad your buddy didn’t continue to HODL! The floor continues to rise for this “joke” crypto coin.

Its going to keep going up until it hits a $1. Its only going to be aided by Musk’s SNL appearance. Im too chicken to invest in something like this but it would be fun to let it ride and see what would happen.

Throw a few hundred at it if nothing else. That’s all I did. I was skeptical/scared to put any “real” money down, but my friend who finally convinced me to get in on it is sitting pretty dang good right now. Makes me really regret not getting in with him when it was $0.05, instead of waiting till it was $0.32. I’ve doubled my money in less than a month. It’s a long shot, but imagine if you owned even 1 bitcoin today…. That’s sitting at $55+ thousand right now… I can only hope Doge goes to Mars!

Only put in what you can stomach to lose.

If nothing else, it’s easily more fun to watch with some money on it as it is sitting at a slot machine for a few hours.

short term or long term capital gains apply same as stocks. nice thing is, selling this early in the year allows him to throw uncle sam’s cut into an ETF or mutual fund, or more stable stocks and keep earning on it.

I have about $70 invested in it at a little under .08.

I view it as purely fun, entertainment money with a better payout/odds than pull tabs. A few of us at work look at stocks and buy small amounts here and there – usually $20-$50 at a time just to see….

Overall, I am up a few bucks. Better than tossing it to the tribes or at the bar, IMO.
