Grind them up and bake them in portions. Keep them frozen until needed.

His kids probably told their friends “Dad is feeding us dog treats”. 
Can imagine the bewildered look on the dogs face after seeing his treats being stuffed into the kids lunch bag.

We used to feed a fish based dog food to our dog. Had to quit because breath and farts would clear the room in under 10 seconds.
To be clear, the kids got the deep fried fish sticks.
I was suggesting baking then fish in portions for the dog. You probably would have to mix something in the fish sticks to bind it (eggs, flour?). Don’t deep fry for the dog unless you want to chance dealing with pancreatitis.
