Can anyone tell me if the Helix 7 CHIRP unit with side imaging can be put into ice fishing mode? I know it became an option for the non SI units, but not sure for the SI units?
Also, what additional features are all included in the “ice fishing” mode?
The price for the SI unit right now is really good so I am looking at getting one, but it will need to pull double duty and I want to make sure I wont be missing features that I will want for hard water season.

I would guess the SI does. I have Helix 7 DI G2 and it has ice mode. It adds views for ice fishing like a flasher view and some combo view: flasher/GPS, flasher/graph etc. Not sure if there any additional menu items or not.

Yes, I run this exact unit ice fishing as of recently. it works and has some nice features, BUT I still prefer my vexilar for ease of use and no lag.
It is nice having the ice pack setup so I can have a second unit for guests in the winter (I guess my guests get to use the more expensive one lol).
