Ok this is probably river fishing 101-but we were planning on fishing the upper Miss. and some guy said the water is so high the bite will be way off-True? We might just stick to the lakes up there.
    Thanks

Yup. My boat stays in the garage during crazy high / fast river times. No lakes near me that I care to fish & I’ve hit enough submerged floating debris.

Im guessing you are still talking about the river north of aitkin? High water on the Mississippi down here is fantastic. High water up there not so much. Plenty of side channels and back waters down here to fish during high water. Not much for that up there. If you are going to fish up there check the river guages, look at a map and shoot for some spots you think are out of the main flow. Some of the side rivers will have cleaner water so that may help but they are few and far between.

Did you see the Angling edge show this morning? Looks to me they launched out of Aitkin and fished that stretch of river. Cool show.
