My uncle tipped me off this morning to this boat on mnlakecams.com

Guess they got buckets of rain.

8″+ of rain in a couple hours will do that.. seeing this boat sit there day after day, you’d think he would have auto bilge on that thing!

Bummer! Parked right behind that rig 2 weekends ago. Storms came through that weekend and the peace of mind I got from the auto bilge I put in last winter was great. Upgraded to 750gph and thing shoots out. Grabbed it from a spot I held it temporarily this spring with bow down so she had some water to shoot out, that it did and was hitting the sidewalk for half mile!

    Absolutely.

I was docked at Fortune Bay, Vermilion, during the BWCA blow down 15 years ago(?) with a manual bilge. Luckily the person manning the docks hit the bilge pumps on all the boats that had them. The boat tied next to me sunk and it wasn’t this nice. It was an older boat and it literally was flipped sideways with one side tied to the dock and the other side laying on the bottom, along with all their gear.

My dad was docked at a friend’s place in Pike Bay and his old “ugly boat” (that’s what we called it) was close to being gone, similar to the one pictured here. He was able to get flip on the bilge switch just before water started coming over the transom, while tied to the dock.

I added an automatic bilge before my next trip on the water and can’t recommend them enough.

UFFDAH. Always the worry with the old lil fishing boat have on the dock. Easy to bail out but haven’t put a battery in it for a bilge. Hopefully the light sprinkle I thought I heard last night in Princeton was just a light sprinkle and not buckets.

I saw that too…looks like it has been for awhile, but I’m wondering why?

If you have a cabin on a good lake, you know their has been lots of rain, you are too busy, send me! The boat will be dry and I will take care of the extra beer pizzas and steaks that were just going bad in your fridge/freezer. Everyone wins!
