Waiting for Zebco Dock Demons 30 inch to pair with Finicky Fooler Hook setter . Dock Demon is a glass rod, apparently indestructible. Was warned at Scheels to not use a graphite rod on a Jaw Jacker/Finicky Fooler ? Interesting the price was 16 dollars for a spinning rod and reel. The reels are junk from what i hear. But just wanted the rod .Anyone use these cheap glass rods for dead sticking ?

Haven’t tried the Zebco Dock Demon, but do use several 36″ Ugly Stik Dock Runners for various applications. $14 at the Walmart. Same deal – chuck the reel and use the rod. Just rigged a few up this evening with Okuma CBF-1000s and 500s for deadstick guest rods for this upcoming weekend. I’m fairly certain there will be a good amount of drinking going on in the house, so will be leaving the JTs, TBs and TUCRs at home!!

The jacker and fooler are completely different, but that dock demon is indestructible. For a application like that it’s perfect. I use any of my custom rods on the fooler. Just because it’s virtually a dead stick and I use them mainly for walleye. So I like having a good rod and reel to battle the fish

The Finicky Fooler hooksetter can be run like you do or a jawjacker. It’s a pretty cool design!

    I didn’t know that. Being in mn I can’t use so I don’t buy

Hope the top eyes are large enough to fit the latch on the Finicky Fooler . Right now the rods i have just fit over the latch pin and hang up. I see Mn is the only state where the hook setter tip up is not legal ? Appreciate the feed back guys .

Cool so when my kids are done with fishing I have a few rods for the Finicky Fooler.

BTW Dock Demons are one of the best for the kids.

Picked up a couple of these from Fleet Farm yesterday; I have been using carbon rods on my hook setters; didn’t realize that they might “blow up” in the cold.
