Was wondering how many people turn their icehouse’s (Legend, Yetti, Ice Castle, etc) furnace/heat on once they hit the lake to start the warming process before they park it.
I’ve heard it wasn’t advised but I’ve also heard that a lot of people do it.
I guess I’ve never done it as it can cause issues with sooting in the furnace fire chamber. Seems like furnaces have enough issues without adding another.
i dont run mine until im set up and drilling the holes. it heats up fast enough anyway
If I’m going to a close lake or moving between lakes I light mine at home or leave it running between lakes. Done it for years with zero problems.
If it is extremely cold I will turn it on at access if I remember and drive slow otherwise turn on after I get to my spot.
