My old terrova turned on when you deployed it and off when stowed. My new one has to be manually turned on and off. What’s the best route on this? Turn on at the start of fishing and off when done or on and off every time it gets used? I use my trolling motor a lot for my style of fishing so it’s only stowed when changing spots on the lake.
Depends. If I am trolling and stowing to go troll another spot I’ll leave it on. If I’m done trolling for the day I’ll turn it off. I don’t think it really matters as long as it’s off at the end of the day.
I turn mine on the first time I use it and never think about turning it off until I’m done.
I always leave mine on when I’m on the water. It doesn’t pull that much juice when it’s stowed.

Same, never considered turning it off. I keep spare batteries for my remote tho
