DIY Stick Weight

    I thought I’d try this simple stick weight build. Having some old lead around, these weights are only about $10/each out of pocket.

    First time melting lead:

    1 1/4″ EMT conduit with 1″ knockout caps. 14″ pipe = 9.2 pounds:

    Have you ran the stick weights before? How does blowback compare to a ball?

    I have been pouring in Coors Light 16oz aluminum bottles. They come out at 12#. The blowback is equal to a finned round ball and they actually track straighter.

    At 1 1/4″ diameter, I believe that they actually have less blowback and the profile leaves a lot less clutter on the fish finder screen.
