Dissapointed in Safariland holster

A few months ago I ordered a Bianchi holster (parent company is Safariland)>
I couldn’t draw my XDx 45 without using two hands. I pulled the gun out over a two week period and it’s just stuck.
Three weeks ago I sent an email using the Safariland contact us form.
    Today I get this message:

Bianchi holsters are designed to be very tight when purchased in order to ensure retention in the holster. If you are experiencing difficulty making your gun fit in the proper holster, we recommend using saddle soap or a water-based quick dry silicon spray.
Work the strap with the saddle soap or spray the entire inside lightly with the silicon spray and let it dry for about five minutes. We suggest leaving the gun covered in the holster for up to 24 hours. You may also hang the holster by the thumb strap from a table after spraying it, but only for brief intervals of time. Should you need to stretch it any further please repeat this process.

So I have to buy another product to get their product to work?

    I’m a little annoyed.

No problem….trade that big gun in for the next size smaller gun….in/out no sweat.

Does it have a retention screw that needs to be adjusted?

No, just a snap loop. I chuckle at the description now.

Handcrafted of premium, full grain leather, the Bianchi Model 77 Piranha™ Pancake-Style Holster is contour molded for a sleek look and excellent fit. It features a unique, low cut front that allows for a swift draw stroke. The 3-slot design offers custom cant adjustment for user preference and allows for both strongside and cross draw carry. It has a 15-degree strongside cant and fits up to 1.75 in. (45 mm) belt widths.

Are you sure you did not buy the “child proof” model?

This is the holster I wanted but do you think they make one for the XDs? Nope.

I’ve had nothing but good to speak about Bianchi and Safariland holsters. I have a few Bianchi OWB leather holsters and they all fit great. I will say that they do actually take some stretching to get to fit right. Better tight than lose from the factory, as we all know leather can stretch.

I also have the Safariland ELS setup for 3-gun and USPSA and none of the items have let me down.

Maybe you need to hit the gym BK? chased

Try putting your gun in a sock then holstering it. The added space the sock takes up will stretch the leather and still mold to your gun.

I should add that you should keep it stored that way for a few days but don’t carry that way. )

My buddies dad wraps his guns in Syrian wrap and wets the holster and then puts the gun in it for a couple days to streach it out a bit. Mite help and wont cost anything, unless the gun gets wet and rusted.

I have 3 of that exact holster and one without retention and none of them are sticky.
The one on my Glock 23 lifts right out. It has a lot of use and holding up well.
Same with one on my LCR. The one I bought for my G43 is useless. The belt loops are too low so the top of the gun hangs out. I called them about the issue but they were not interested in helping me. Now its just sitting in the cupboard unused and brand new.

Lately my go to has been either the Desantis Intimidator 2.0 kydex
    It pulls with some resistance.

Or more recently a minimalist Versacarry Protector S1. Both keep it small and close. This one is tough to draw but you know its not falling out.
    Both are OWB.

I gave up looking for a small OWB with retention. They dont seem to exist.

Yes, I may have stated the problem wrong.
The gun “fits” fine, but when I try to draw the weapon I need to use two hands to get it out.

I’ll give the sock a try while drawing. That could wear that little “hump” down enough were it’s a usable holster.

I’ll check out the other sites as well…thanks gentlemen!

Some of my leather holsters were super tight. I understand your pain on this one.

Takes a bit to break them in. I found Simply Rugged Holsters were the best I have ever bought. Smaller mfg and reasonable lead time for what I wanted.

    No issues drawing.
