Disposing of unwanted bait

Ok, here’s a challenge. Come up with a disposal method/container to be used at Accesses for unwanted bait – disposal, recycling/composting of such. Can’t be a container that folks can use for trash, tires, old tv’s, fishing line, pop cans, diapers, batteries . So the opening needs to be tiny. Minnows, leeches, crawlers, worms. And it needs to be virtually indestructible, fireproof and not easy to steal, tip over or deface.

Good luck…. I’ll never understand what is so hard about taking care of garbage.

I even see line recycling tubes full of trash.

Gulls are your only hope lol

Who is reaponsible for maintaining that? I don’t see a sign that says dispose bait here only?

We already have these on the St Croix just in front of the Hudson boat landing. There are a bunch of them. They anchor them within a couple hundred yards of the landing. They come in different colors and shapes. You can’t even smell the rotten bait from the landing either.

All my unwanted live bait is already being carried around in it’s own “take home” container. How did you get your live bait there in the first place? Why won’t that continue to work getting it back home?
Seems simple enough to figure out for most adults.

If you really want another container, drain any water and put the rest in a zip lock baggie, sealed tupperware bowl, empty screw lid coffee container, the list is endless.
