Dinner Recommendation

Just found out we are heading down (from Cloquet) to the Dead End Hayride in Wyoming tomorrow night with our son and girlfriend.
We’re looking at a new place to try for dinner. We’ve stopped at Doc’s in Sturgeon lake a few times and the food is OK, and Tobies is not on the list.
Any spots from Hinckley down to Stacy that anyone would recommend??
Looking for more of a burger/sammies/apps kind of place (tho if it has good broasted/fried chicken I’m listening)
    Thanks for any suggestions!

Bearcat suggested The Olde Brick Inn In North Branch, in another thread and I think I will be taking the family there Saturday.

I’d suggest Flickabirds in Rush City.
In my opinion their broasted chicken is just as good if not better than the Brass Rail and they’ll serve it to you on an actual plate and not a paper boat.

My mom is kinda a Karen, and they are frequently at flickabirds getting the chicken. Never a complaint, but it’s not exactly right off the highway.

Flicka birds is delicious in rush, but if you are in Wyoming then I’d suggest the cornerstone across the bridge from the hay ride.
The brass rail is OK but very over rated in my opinion. Maybe I live to close ? The Stacy bar has good food. But flicka birds would be my call especially for chicken

You could head to Smokey’s in Coon Lake Beach. I live in East Bethel and that about the best food there is around. A little out of the way for you but not too bad.

I would also say Cornerstone in Wyoming they used to have great prime rib and an old school vibe. Haven’t been in awhile I was just telling my son this week we need to go back.

Agree, Tobies has gone way down hill

They have awesome burgers, but it’s a bar bar, not really a family environment

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like we’ll be hitting the Cornerstone beforehand.

The Fuse in Harris is better than Flickabirds. Cornerstone is really good for breakfast.

The fuse is only good when Rick’s cooking. At least by my experience

So I have not eaten at this location but the one that was in Vadnais Heights had great breakfast, never had any other food items though. Village Inn right in Wyoming.

Another vote for Smokeys if you don’t mind a little further drive. Some of the best BBQ around, and get the mac and cheese for a side.

Long story short, we got held up and ended up at a little place up here (Street Car Pub, Carlton) just to grab and go in the truck. Had to do like 85 just to get down there to be close to our ticket time and still didnt get home til 1am.
Mrs X and I are headed down to UW Stout for homecoming/football game this weekend, and will probably give Cornerstone or the Olde Brick a shot for dinner on the way home Sunday.

Went up to the brick last night. Still the best burger and fries around. We took the neighbors up, they said it was the best burger they had in a long while

Lazy Moose in Moose Lake. You will need to drive a mile or two off I35.

Breakfast (all day) is really well done. Traditional small-town dinner menu is spot on also.

I suppose too close to Cloquet for you though ??
