After spending 40+ ys in the pizza business including 28 as an owner, I have a problem calling any frozen za good, but I gotta admit that Papa Murphy’s aren’t to bad.. but why in the Hell would any body put artichokes on a pizza??

I love Papa Murphy’s for flavor, but I can’t freaking eat them anymore. The sodium content is off the freaking charts!

Has anyone else noticed this? I don’t know what ingredient is doing it, but after eating a PM pizza, I’m guzzling water for like 2 days. It’s like dragging my tongue through a salt mine.

Used to buy them, but haven’t bought a single one for 3 years.

I just had Screaming Sicilian frozen pizza last night. It is pretty good in a pinch, certainly the best frozen pizza IMO.

Whatever pizza it is, I add about another inch of toppings to make it right.

artichokes on pizza is delicious. One of my favorite pizza toppings. May have to pick up a papa murphys tonight.

The order of quality frozen pizzas is as follows:

Lotza Motza’s (hands down the best but admittedly im growing sick of them after eating so many in the last 2 years). After that it seems the cheaper the better. Jacks followed by Totinos. I wasn’t a fan of the Sicilian ones or Home Run Inn. Never was a fan of Degiorinos. Ill pass on 3″ thick pizza dough. Tombstone is ok. I bought a few of those 7th Ave pizzas a few days ago but haven’t tried them yet.

x3 on Heggie’s for frozen za. We get Papa Murph’s fairly often, and it is a good deal compared to delivery or even some of the frozen varieties.

I got one recently from Cub that was just behind Heggies and a dollar cheaper. I just cant remember the brand. I believe it had a black paper. Pizza corner is also good.

We eat frozen once in a while in a pinch. I can enjoy them. I like Papa Murpyys a lot better.
One step above that is “homemade” pizza at some of the up north remote places that use prepackaged crust. I can tell. They are better than frozen with all other ingredients being fresh but they are still not great. Nothing like hand made dough with all fresh ingredients. THEN you can start debating sauce.

back in the day when i was a kid we used to make these homemade pizza’s in a box. think Jeno’s used to make them. had the basics, flour for the crust, sauce and cheese. we added extra ingredients.

we still buy them yet, think there made by a different label??????? chef boaradee?????? still pretty good!!!!!!

Go get one of these….looks hokie but it sure works. Make your own or put a frozen pizza in it. We like fresh dough with Red Savoy’s pizza sauce and then all the mozzarella you can squeeze in there plus sausage, peppers, mushrooms and onions.

Yes, I remember those. Was cheap…and fun to make your own. Crust rarely came out quite right though. Soggy and like white bread.

Hmmm…but this makes your list? “Jacks followed by Totinos.” Totinos? Wouldn’t even give that to my grandkids now, even they deserve better. “Pork product?” sausage and pepperoni “flavored”?

Best for me would be pizza pub fresh made at restaurant, other than national chains like Pizza Hut, Dominoes (yuck)…etc.

Frozen…Heggie’s! I remember well the first one I had some 20 years ago. Picked one up at the Garrison Super Valu and took it out on my first ice fishing sleeper house rental on Mille Lacs. Bitter cold in January, -20 degrees outside and the wind howling. The euphoria of that Heggie’s baked up and coming out of the oven in that fish house…priceless!!! yay Still my go to favorite for frozen pizza.

I use my bread maker for the dough and make my own. You can cook the meat and vegies in a frying pan first if you like lots of toppings but don’t want all the juices.

You guys have to try Little Caesar’s Extra Most Bestest Pizza for $6. For a fully cooked pizza, there isn’t one better at that price for dang sure. Granted, that’s only one topping so for those of you who load up that vegetable garden it might be more or not interest you, but with 3 boys in my house, I come home with 3 of those pizzas and they might have leftovers for breakfast the next day. It is honestly better than their other pizzas, not sure why, but it is.

I have had Heggies and its very good, but yes, its so salty. Same goes with Papa Murphys for me.
Ever since my surgery to remove part of my colon last year, if I eat anything that salty its basically renting it. Goes right out!

Lil ceasars is alrgiht, their lunch combo pizzas are the bomb though!!

If a fan of thin, bellatoria pizzas are pretty darned good. Wife worked lil part time for em, Midwest local company who makes some good pies, at least we enjoyed em.

Totinos were the absolute best hands down id probably punch ya if you argued with me a decade ago or so. The stuff they put out nowadays I rarely touch, too bad, that crust was awesome at 3 in the morning toast

We’d visit our kids when they were in college. The freezer always had some Jacks frozen pizzas, there like ten for $5.

Here is one of my favs. Stop at a Mexican grocery store with a butcher and get some steak Al pastor chorizo or what ever you like along with veggies tortillas and you can make better fajitas/tacos than most restaurants.
