Just curious if the Digger Auger Mount with the universal sandwhich style mount will work on a 2005 polaris sportsman 700 or do I need to shell out the extra $30 and get the polaris adapter kit? Let me know.

    Thanks

I’m a yamaha guy who has a Digger installed on my metal racks, why couldn’t you just drill 3 holes through the Polaris plastic storage top and sandwich through it?

Actually, the adapter kit works really slick. I was skeptical at first but used it this season and would do it again. I think I paid closer to $25 at Fleet Farm.

I just didn’t feel comfortable drilling holes in my cover.

I mounted mine to the front rack of my 2004 PO PO 700 with no issues. Just used the mounting hardware that came with the carrier.

Does anyone have (or can someone please take) some decent pictures of how to mount this onto a Polaris? I bought the Polaris kit, but there’s no real instructions that show how to actually mount it onto a Polaris. Their website doesn’t have any pictures that are big enough or clear enough to see.

    Thanks in advance.

I have a 2009 Sportsman 500HO. I have an otter box on the back, so I mounted the digger up front. The front of the 2009s don’t have the lock and ride. They have the little (almost worthless) storage area with lid. The lid has two very small metal strips that run across the box. I removed one of those strips and found the bolt pattern is the exact spacing the digger has. So, I used the metal brace that came with the digger inside the lid, and the digger right on top on the outside. No extra holes drilled and works well.
